The 2026 Erie Gives and Crawford Gives campaigns marked a milestone year of collective philanthropy for the Edinboro University Foundation, generating a combined $26,800.65 from 78 donors in two of our most successful regional giving events to date!
Facilitated by The Erie Community Foundation and the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation, respectively, the 24-hour Erie Gives campaign raised $20,153.02 including matched gifts from 67 donors, while the 72-hour Crawford Gives campaign brought in $6,647.63 including matched support from 11 donors.
This year, the Foundation highlighted the Edinboro Highland Games Fund for Erie Gives and Crawford Gives. This fund helps provide Scottish cultural enrichment programs to students and the Edinboro community. By directing gifts to this fund, the community helped us preserve and celebrate our campus' heritage. Additionally, as part of our commitment to the individual members of our community, we continued to raise resources for the Student Retention Fund. Currently, 30% of our students are first-generation, and 44% are Pell Grant Eligible. Traditional financial aid is simply not enough to bridge the gap for many hardworking students. This fund helps students stay enrolled when all other financial aid options have been exhausted. The vital investments made throughout these giving days play a critical role in directly removing financial barriers for students, preserving our rich campus heritage, and uplifting the greater Edinboro community.
Erie Gives Day and Crawford Gives Days highlight the community's generosity. In addition, the Erie Community Foundation, the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation, and corporate sponsors partially match every donation made within the giving days, amplifying the effect of each gift.
